Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey Leaders Receive the 2018 Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN)

The TWIN award recognizes companies that encourage high achievement by women and promote equal advancement opportunities for women with diverse backgrounds. The award also honors outstanding businesswomen who excel in their fields and have made significant contributions to their workplace.

Lili Brillstein, Director, Episodes of Care, and Ilene Wachs, President, Horizon Casualty Services, were selected to receive the TWIN award for 2018 by the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Union County. They were selected based on their exceptional talent and demonstrated leadership in their positions at Horizon BCBSNJ.

Ms. Brillstein and Ms. Wachs were honored at the TWIN awards dinner in May 2018.

Lili Brillstein joined Horizon BCBSNJ in 2012 to lead the Company’s Center for Health Innovations in building Episode of Care Programs with specialty providers. She manages a team of eight professionals who engage in designing, contracting and administering the Episodes of Care programs. Ms. Brillstein also leads the Episodes of Care Development and Innovation Work Group for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans nationwide.

Ilene Wachs is the president of Horizon Casualty Services Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Horizon BCBSNJ, which manages Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Protection claims for multiple insurance companies in New Jersey. She is responsible for all business and operational activities. Ms. Wachs also serves as a director on the Horizon Casualty Services Inc. Board which is chaired by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon BCBSNJ.

Ms. Wachs possesses extensive business experience in hospital leadership, domestically and internationally and has been recognized for her executive leadership and volunteer work with professional and philanthropic organizations. She is an active member on numerous boards and professional associations and has been the recipient of numerous awards.

The TWIN awards began in New Jersey in 1975. Now a national and international award program of the YWCA, TWIN annually recognizes outstanding businesswomen and their companies.
